Ubuntu how to install a software

Either Type in the terminal :sudo aptitude install software-name


Or Type in the terminal : sudo apt-get install software-name

Type in the terminal sudo aptitude search filename

e.g:-sudo aptitude search php5

knowing IP address in Ubuntu

Type   ifconfig     in the shell and press enter
In the second line of the result,there appears inet addr: which is the required ip address .

Go to System -->About Ubuntu
